I was recently asked by a friend of mine, “When it comes to Dansko nursing shoes, which model is best for a nurse?”. Plus, since these shoes have consistently lasted 3 years and more for nursing professionals, it would seem you’ll have this pair for awhile and you want to make sure it can accommodate your working conditions, far beyond the standing and walking for 12 hour or more shifts part.

So to answer the question, let’s categorize the options under two main headings. The first is style type and the second is leather type. We’ll begin with the style.

Dansko nursing shoes are a clog style with a closed toe design where your entire foot is covered. Essentially the most common style for nursing shoes is the stapled clogs. And actually the only option that may require your biggest decision is whether you want a closed or open heel. This decision is based on your preference more than anything. Although, the closed heel provides you with the most protection from your foot slipping out of the shoe.

However, retaining its “classic” Dansko look can be done by re-oiling with the Dansko oiled leather restorer.

Now, of course there are other Dansko shoe types and leathers but these are the most common in terms of Dansko nursing shoes.
